Story synopsis and log line

A young couple commute home separately on public transit to see each other, while their tedious journeys are made more unendurable by cartoonishly surreal occurences.

A young (college-aged) couple, Reid and Gemma, endure tedious commutes home, separately, on public transit to see each other at the end of the day. Along the way, their frustrations and fears are manifested onscreen as various cartoonishly surreal happenings involving their fellow bus travellers; a bus driver blares at Reid like a foghorn for forgetting to use a new bus pass at the beginning of the month, while Gemma sits next to a murderous cannibal having a casual cellphone conversation with his roommate. Reid is then in an exaggeratedly overcrowded bus full of people that refuse to spread out to make more room, while Gemma sits next to a young woman who begins to eat her cat alive (and screams at it for complaining). Reid’s bus driver then slams on the brakes every few seconds, while Gemma sits next to a man urinating out of both ears. Reid then endures a baby that deliberately directs blood-curdling cries into his face before eating his heart out (literally), while Gemma is bisected (Wile E. Coyote-style) by a falling electronic bus stop sign. The couple each finally arrive home, only for it to be revealed to the viewer that they live in separate cities and were heading home in order to video-chat with each other.
